About the CYCSA Racing Association:
The Racing Association oversees all racing activities at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia.
Racing is conducted year round, and in the warmer months we offer a variety of racing series including Club Inshore Series, Coaster Series, Offshore racing, the elite IRC & AMS State Championships, and our ever popular Wednesday night ‘Phil Hoffmann Travel’ Twilight Series. Highlights of the CYCSA racing calendar also include the Queen of the Gulf Regatta, the ‘Sportsmed.SA’ Premier’s Cup Regatta, the Adelaide to Port Lincoln Race, and the Great Southern Regatta.
Racing continues into the colder months with our ‘Port River Marine’ Winter Series (held in conjunction with the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron), and the ‘Canegrass Saltbush Lamb’ Short-handed Series (open to boats crewed by two able persons 18 years and over). The highlight of the series is the Short-handed Destination race to Pt Vincent.
Downwind is the Racing Association’s newsletter, and has previously been a monthly document emailed out to racing members. A facelift has been long overdue and some changes have needed to be made.
Welcome to the ‘modern’ Downwind, the Racing Association’s Newsletter – now online! This page will be updated regularly, so be sure to add it to your favorites and visit us often for news, photos, articles and information.
